Begin by Classifying Every Life Statistic
A useful life-stat report contains three evidence levels. Calendar facts come directly from two dates. Fixed-unit equivalents convert the exact day count into 24-hour days, minutes, or seconds. Biological scenarios multiply the date range by an assumed sleep duration, heartbeat rate, or breathing rate.
The arithmetic can be correct at every level while the interpretation differs. An exact day count does not make a constant-rate heartbeat total exact. Write the result type beside every number before deciding whether it is suitable for a birthday fact, a classroom example, or a personal data project.
Count Civil Dates Without Daylight-Saving Errors
Validate the year, month, and day before calculating. JavaScript and spreadsheet date functions can silently roll an impossible date into a later month unless the reconstructed components are checked. After validation, compare UTC ordinals created from the two civil dates rather than subtracting local-midnight timestamps.
The ordinal method makes consecutive calendar dates differ by one even when a daylight-saving transition creates a 23-hour or 25-hour local clock day. The usual elapsed-day interval excludes the endpoint as an additional completed day: birth date to the following date equals one day, while a date compared with itself equals zero.

Decompose Exact Age by Anniversaries, Months, and Days
Exact calendar age is not obtained by dividing days by 365. Count completed annual anniversaries first, then complete calendar months after the latest anniversary, then the remaining days. This preserves unequal month lengths and leap years.
February 29 requires a disclosed common-year convention. A February 28 rule and a March 1 rule can produce different completed ages around the boundary. Apply the selected convention to the headline age and every birthday or five-year milestone so the page cannot contradict itself.

Convert Days Into Time Without Inventing a Birth Time
Multiplying calendar days by 24, 1,440, or 86,400 produces consistent scale comparisons. Call them 24-hour equivalents because date-only inputs do not identify the instant of birth or the instant represented by the comparison date.
For 11,530 elapsed days, the equivalents are 276,720 hours, 16,603,200 minutes, and 996,192,000 seconds. Those values are useful for a milestone display, but adding a birth timestamp and timezone would be necessary for an exact elapsed-clock calculation.

Build a Sleep Scenario From an Explicit Average
A sleep scenario multiplies elapsed days by one entered number of hours per day. At 8 hours per day, sleep occupies one third of the modeled period. That does not reconstruct actual nights, naps, awakenings, sleep quality, changing needs, or time awake in bed.
CDC guidance shows that recommended sleep duration varies by age and that quality matters alongside quantity. A single lifelong average crosses childhood and adulthood, so it should be treated as an arithmetic assumption rather than a recommendation or personal record.

Treat Heartbeat and Breathing Totals as Constant-Rate Models
Heartbeat and breathing scenarios apply one rate to all 1,440 minutes in every elapsed day. The result describes what would accumulate if that constant held; it is not a sum of sensor readings or medical records.
The American Heart Association explains that resting heart rate changes with activity, stress, medication, hormones, illness, and other factors. MedlinePlus gives adult resting pulse and breathing context but also notes variation with age and health. Resting ranges must not be relabeled as childhood values or lifetime averages.

Create Milestones That Can Be Reproduced
Day milestones are dates formed by adding a whole number of calendar days to the birth date. A 10,000-day birthday is therefore reproducible without a biological assumption. Age milestones use the same anniversary convention as the age result.
Record the source birth date, comparison date, day-count convention, February 29 rule when relevant, and all scenario rates. That small audit trail lets another reader reproduce the report and prevents a playful estimate from being detached from its assumptions.

Is the days-lived result exact?
It is exact civil-date arithmetic for the two entered Gregorian dates. It does not identify the exact number of hours since birth because the form does not collect a birth time, observation time, or timezone.
Why not calculate age by dividing days by 365?
Years contain 365 or 366 days and calendar months vary from 28 to 31 days. Exact calendar age therefore counts completed anniversaries, then months, then remaining days. Dividing by 365.2425 is shown only as an approximate decimal comparison.
Are the hours, minutes, and seconds lived exact?
No. They are 24-hour equivalents made by multiplying the whole calendar-day count. They are useful scale comparisons, but they are not timestamp-level lifetime measurements.
